Sorry for my lack of posts this week, lots going on. First I have to chat with the girls on The Circle at 10am, which is then followed by a reality check from Dr Phil, and finally some warm fuzzies with Oprah. I am so super busy.
And did I mention that I have finished reading this book?
Have a dream? Read this book - Lots of practical advice on turning your idea into a flourishing business. Intermixed with Poppy's own personal business experiences makes this a really interesting read.
Did I also mention that Ms King personally signed my copy? Blatent name dropping social climber you say? Not I!
I am wearing Rouge Sinner - a sheer red
I met Pops - (she let's me call her that when she can't hear me), a few weeks ago at Kit Cosmetics. She is soooo petite, but don't be fooled, this is one powerhouse of a woman. Poppy launched a lipstick business when she was just 18 years old, and I don't think there was a woman alive and breathing in Australia that didn't own a Poppy Seven Deadly Sins lipstick in the 90's.
The brand was re-released in 2008 under the name of Lipstick Queen, and we are all eating it up in droves. The opaque 1940's inspired shades are now complimented with sheer versions as well as some lovely glosses (I wrote about Fired Up HERE).
And don't forget the gorgeous packaging. The tarot-like cards are really intriguing and can be used as decoration on your desk or wall. And, as Poppy says in her book, we love a good story, and without a doubt there is an interesting story behind all the Lipstick Queen products.
Take the Medieval Lip Treatment. A sheer and seriously moisturising lipstick in the most flattering stained cherry shade inspired by medieval times, when it was unacceptable for women to wear lipstick. Instead they would stimulate colour to the lips by applying lemon juice. Forget medi, that;'s just evil.
And if your as obsessed with red lipsticks as I am, you can't go past Red Sinner - the ultimate bright red lipstick (slightly pink based). The perfect pop of colour for the dreary office outfit.
Lipstick Queen is available from Kit Cosmetics.
Do you have a favourite shade of Lipstick Queen?
Are you going to read the new Oprah Biography?
I'm hungry, what are you eating for dinner?

I haven't checked out Lipstick Queen yet - but I loved Poppy back in the day. I don't know if I'm interested in Oprah's biography...doesn't really grab me. Don't talk to me about dinner - I'm on day 3 of an Urban Remedy juice cleanse and I'm dying for some food! Looking forward to tomorrow when I can eat again!
Oh Urban Remedy - tell us how you got on, fabulous and totally worth the food deprivation?
x
Fabulous would be a bit strong. The first day was the hardest (bad, bad headache), but that gradually eased. By yesterday I was feeling really good, quite energetic. I really missed food though, and got sick of the juices. Dinner time was the hardest. Glad I did it though - def feel lighter and healthier and would consider doing it again.
